A peer-reviewed professional philosophy journal, ENVIRONMENTAL PHILOSOPHY publishes innovative research relevant to all areas of environmental philosophy, including ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, theology, politics, ecofeminism, environmental justice, philosophy of technology, and ecophenomenology. We welcome diverse philosophical approaches to environmental issues, including those inspired by the many schools of Continental philosophy, the history of philosophy, Indigenous and non-Western philosophy, and the traditions of American and Anglo-American philosophy. We also invite interdisciplinary theoretical investigations relevant to environmental philosophy from animal studies, architecture, ecocriticism, environmental design, science studies, and other fields.
Established in 2004, ENVIRONMENTAL PHILOSOPHY is published biannually in Fall and Spring issues.
Articles published in ENVIRONMENTAL PHILOSOPHY are indexed in Philosopher’s Index and Philosophy Research Index.
ENVIRONMENTAL PHILOSOPHY is the official journal of the International Association for Environmental Philosophy (IAEP), founded in 1997 to provide a forum for wide-ranging philosophical discussion of nature and the human relation to the natural environment. Annual membership in IAEP includes a print subscription to the journal as a benefit of membership.
The journal is published by the Philosophy Documentation Center on behalf of the International Association for Environmental Philosophy.
